It was in India that Mable started learning the importance of enthusiasm and curiosity in young children as she worked with them. It was during her first teaching experiences that she began to love teaching. In the course of years, her journey took her from India to Qatar and then brought her to the UAE. Stepping into every classroom, she always thought: every child should be seen, heard and helped in their education.

These days, Mable heads the ELL team at GEMS Founders School – Al Mizhar and everyone appreciates her for her open approach and attention to students. She helps students who study English as an additional language by giving them language support and building their confidence so they feel comfortable using English at school and in daily life.

She and the educators at the school team up to change lessons so they better fit the abilities of every student. Using technology, explaining hard subjects piece by piece or bringing lessons close to students’ daily lives are all methods she likes to use to help students learn better.

The thing that most fuels Mable is watching her students develop both in their learning and as people. Having grown up learning English as a second language, she can relate to the problems her students have. Consequently, she gets joy from observing an introverted student participate in class and from a learner’s example of how they now support others. She thinks these experiences are what reward her the most.

Mable values taking care of herself when she’s off the clock. Cooking, family visits, and relaxing at home are her favorite ways to recharge. She feels that teachers who are happy and well-rested can help their students more.

Mable also has big plans for the ELL program. She wants to introduce more technology, take inspiration from other schools, and keep offering strong support for students and teachers. Her mission is to make sure every child feels included and confident in their abilities, no matter where they start.

To Mable, language isn’t just something to learn—it’s a way to grow. It helps students connect with others, share their ideas, and build a better future. And every day, through her work, she helps students take that important step forward.
